Neuromuscular Dentistry

What a Difference A Bite Can Make

Today I saw a patient who has been clenching and grinding his teeth for years. He has worn two-thirds of his teeth away and now wonders where his smile went. When he smiles, you can't even see his teeth. This wonderful gentleman has "bite disease."

Oftentimes, people with bite disease also exhibit sore muscles, and this can be miserable. Neuromuscular Dentistry can help those who have lost tooth length due to clenching and grinding, as well as those who suffer headaches, jaw aches and migraines due to bite disease.

For our patient today who wants to see his teeth again, we bonded on a temporary mock-up of acrylic teeth, and his wife's comment was, "Oh, my. You look soooo handsome!" Tomorrow, we're starting a full-mouth reconstruction.

If you've noticed that you can no longer see your teeth in your smile, or if you suffer from headaches, TMD pain, or neck aches, contact Dr. Nippoldt's Centre for Distinctive Dentistry at 651-739-8573 for a Neuromuscular Dentistry exam.
